One of the main objectives of this research program is to collect, organize and make available the primary sources for the study of the Nuclear History of Brazil and Argentina. Beside our oral history program, CPDOC holds a significant number of documents on the issues that are deposited in the following personal archives:

Brazilian Archives (hosted at FGV):

  • Antonio Azeredo da Silveira Archive (Foreign Minister, 1974-1979)
  • Paulo Nogueira Batista Archive (President of Nuclebrás, 1974-1979; Ambassador to the UN, 1987-1990)
  • Ernesto Geisel Archive (President of Brazil, 1974-1979)
  • Luiz Felipe Lampreia Archive (Foreign Minister, 1995-2001)
  • Rubens Barbosa Archive (Ambassador to the US, 1999-2004)
  • Renato Archer Archive (Member of Congress, 1955-1968; Member of the Congress Comitee on Foreign Relations, 1958-1964).
  • Ramiro Saraiva Guerreiro Archive (Foreign Minister, 1979-1985).
  • Luiz Augusto de Castro Neves Archive (Ambassador to Paraguay, China and Japan).

Argentine Archives:

Our research team has conducted extensive field work in Argentina, where we had access to over 2 thousand documents regarding Brazil-Argentina nuclear relations deposited at the Archivo del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores Comercio Internacional y Culto. Here you can find summaries of the documents we had access pertaining to the Argentine-Brazil nuclear relations.
