The sociologies of the south and its challenges towards a global sociology

FGV's School of Social Sciences held on June 11th the fourth session of the Global History Seminar - Connections. In this session, we invited professor Marcelo Carvalho Rosa, PhD in Sociology at IUPERJ and Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology at the University of Brasilia (UnB). In his lecture, discussed by professor João Marcelo Maia, from CPDOC, professor Rosa discussed the geopolitical, theoretical and methodological conditionals of the existence of a "Sociology of the South" and the attempts to create a Global Social Theory. In this Pocket Talks, professor Rosa summarizes his main arguments.
