Different views on the use of force to protect people

FGV’s School of Social Sciences/CPDOC in São Paulo hosted the "Challenges for Peace and International Security in the 2nd Dilma Government" conference on March 12th in partnership with the Humanity United foundation and organized in collaboration with the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi). Diplomats, academics, journalists and other experts who have recently discussed the main challenges and opportunities in the area of peace and international security for Brazil, have attended the event. One of the scholars who contributed to the debates proposed for the event was Professor Philipp Rotmann, researcher at GPPi and research collaborator at Fundação Getulio Vargas, protagonist of today’s Pocket Talks about the different points of view on the use of force for protection of individuals. The teacher presents relevant questions regarding the ideological boundary between the use of diplomacy and the use of military systems to protect individuals and regions.
