Carlos Eduardo Lira Portela
Carlos Portela is an undergraduate student majoring in International Relations at the Universidade Católica de Santos and has been working as an intern at the Career Center of FGV RI since August 2023.
Throughout his undergraduate studies, Carlos has distinguished himself through his pioneering work in academic and sports projects, being recognized by Forbes magazine for his participation in the Mastercard Gamer Academy, a scholarship program in Esports in partnership with G2 Esports. He has co-authored various academic articles, focusing on studies related to Foreign Policy and Chinese Soft Power, along with research on the development of the electronic sports sector as a tool for International Politics.
Before joining the FGV RI team, Carlos founded and chaired the Athletic and Academic Association "Sergio Vieira de Mello" at his university. This association aimed to encompass the sports, academic, and social activities of his course, along with extension projects such as the MONU Unisantos (Model of the United Nations at the Universidade Católica de Santos) and the Podcast on Foreign Policy "Quarentena Global".
