New fellow on the FGV RI’s Nuclear Politics Program

The FGV School of International Relations welcomes the Dr. Pedro Seabra, post-doctoral researcher at the Center for International Studies of the University Institute of Lisbon. During his stay from September to December at FGV RI, Seabra will carry out a project on the centrality of non-proliferation issues in the South Atlantic to the Brazil-Portugal relations in the late 1980s.

Between 2016 and 2017, he was Leibniz-DAAD Research Fellow of the GIGA German Institute for Global and Area Studies, where he remains an Associate. Previously he was a Visiting Researcher at the International Relations Institute of the University of Brasília (IREL-UnB), the Center for Governance Innovation at the University of Pretoria (GovInn-UP) and the ICS, ULisboa. He also worked at the Portuguese Institute for International Relations and Security (IPRIS).

His research interests focus on International Relations, International Security, South Atlantic regional dynamics and security capacity-building in Africa and he has published in journals such as African Security, International Politics, Cambridge Review of International Affairs, or South African Journal of International Affairs.
