Ambassador Derek Shearer, Stuart Chevalier Professor of Diplomacy and  World Affairs at Occidental College, held a lecture at FGV. Shearer was a member of the US Foreign Service, worked at the US Trade Department during the Clinton administration and as Foreign Policy advisor for vice-president Al Gore and for Senator Hilary Clinton. Ambassador Shearer is a regular contributor the the NYT, IHT and The Wall Street Journal in international afairs.
