Russia and the BRICS

The International Relations Center at FGV, based at the School of Social Sciences (FGV / CPDOC), will be holding the event "Russia and the BRICS" with Russian Ambassador Sergey Akopov. Oliver Stuenkel, coordinator of the School of Social Sciences (CPDOC), and Guilherme Casarões, professor of International Relations at FGV, will moderate the discussion. 
Ambassador Sergey Akopov graduated from the State Institute of International Relations in Moscow and then immediately joined the diplomatic service and went to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR in 1976. He served at the Embassies in Costa Rica (1976-1980), Brazil (1983-1988), and Chile (1990-1996). From 1999 to 2003, he was Counselor-Minister at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Brazil. Between 2005 and 2010 he was Vice-director of the Latin America Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. In 2010, he became the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Federal Republic of Brazil.
A certificate of attendance will be provided. The event is free and open to the public. Places are limited.
