Debate on the Future of Humanitarian Interventions

The event was organized by the Center for International Relations at FGV, in partnership with the Global Center for Responsibility to Protect and the Stanley Foundation and had the following panelists:

Garreth Evans: Professor and Chancellor of the University of Australia, President Emeritus of the International Crisis Group and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Australia.

Jennifer Welsh: Professor of International Relations and fellow of the Sommerville College at the University of Oxford, where she co-directs the Oxford Institute for Ethics, Law and Armed Conflict.

Simon Adams: Executive Director of the Global Centre for the Responsibility to Protect. He worked in NGOs in South Africa, East Timor, Northern Ireland, Rwanda and Mozambique.

Doc Mashabane: is the alternate representative of South Africa at the United Nations. He served at South Africa's Justice Departmend and in several committees at the UN.
