Connections. Global and Transnational History Seminar | Session IV: The sociologies of the South and its challenges for a global sociology
Praia de Botafogo, 190 - 11/06/2015 - 14:00 - 16:00

In recent decades, under the title of "global" or "transnational", new historiographical debates and theoretical and methodological approaches of the social sciences take shape reflecting the new globalization phenomenon. Research in the North and South of the so-called Western World have known new dilemas and revaluated the connections between societies, cultures and spaces that were previously underestimated or simply disregarded.

The School of Social Sciences of FGV and the Center for International Relations organize this four-session seminar in order to create a forum for discussions between different research practices on the subject and to promote dialogue and exchange of experiences among researchers in this field, contributing to a greater internationalization of the Brazilian academic production.
